The first chapter has been less than a week away from releasing for approximately three years. Now, that sentiment means something. Given that the chapter is less than a week away. Because it’s already up. Very exciting.
On a genuine note, it’s beyond surreal to be at this point. I started writing in 2013, but it took 7 years of practice until I came up with the initial ideas for what would become Heresy of Truth (really, the universe that happens to contain the events of Heresy of Truth) in 2020. Five years of worldbuilding paired with a lot of plot experimentation until I finally have the monstrosity that I’ll be unleashing upon everyone soon. The amount of time, effort, and sleep deprivation that has made this possible is hard to reckon with.
Writing has always been a source of comfort to me, but this project genuinely carried me through, easily, the worst part of my life, and the baggage that comes with that distinction. For it to then become the first project I’ve ever felt comfortable actually publishing means so incredibly much. It’s closure. I won. I survived. Not only that—I dragged Heresy of Truth out of that time with me and made it into something that I’m genuinely excited to share! I’ve shaped the specter of what I survived into some of the coolest parts of what I’ve made. I’m beyond excited and proud.
Second chapter should be ready in a week.
